Which steam generator does my room need?

The room volume in cubic metres is the sizing figure for a steam generator, and it is the number to confirm before ordering. The volume published in each row of the table below is the room that model is intended for. A larger room takes the next model up.

That makes the finished room the thing to measure — length × width × height as it will actually be built — rather than the footprint on a plan. Send the figure and the model is confirmed against it.

Five models are listed here. Room volume is quoted from the ST and FAN technical manuals and is the sizing figure to confirm before ordering.

The table above is the range we publish in full, not the range we build. The ST range continues to ST-180 and the FAN range to 7.5 kW and above for commercial installations.

Stainless steel wet-steam boilers from 3 kW to 6 kW are also listed on our store. If your room is larger than anything in the table, send the volume and the model is quoted against it.

Every generator is supplied with a controller, a sensor, a steam conduit, a nozzle and a safety valve. The controller is what drives the unit, and one controller can drive the generator and linked units — so a large commercial room can be run from a single panel.

Control panels

The ST range is 220 V single phase. The FAN range is available in 220 / 380 V with 1 / 3 phase options. Electrical configuration — voltage, phase and frequency — is specified against the destination market before production, not after.

One warning worth repeating, because it is the expensive mistake: a 220 V unit must not be connected to a 380 V supply. The over-voltage damages the heating element and the circuit board. A 380 V unit on a 220 V supply is the safe direction, but it runs well below its rated output.
